Yuzu Miso Glaze

This yuzu miso glaze is like an amped up teriyaki. It starts with a salty and sweet base of soy sauce, sake, ginger, and sugar. But these fun-filled packets turn the flavor up to 11 with the addition of tart yuzu (a knobbly citrus more commonly used in East Asia) and two kinds of savory miso (a salty, earthy Japanese seasoning made from fermented soybeans). Even the bright, colorful packaging feels like a party. 

The glaze is made by the Pham Sisters, who co-founded their company, Omsom, to showcase “loud and proud” Asian flavors. The package comes with three pouches of glaze, each portioned to serve 2-4 folks for one meal, making dinner come together in a snap. Just open it up, drizzle it over eggplant, salmon, or chicken, and don’t resist the urge to dance with joy at every bite.
