Zingerman’s Bakehouse Palmiers and Coffee Cake
Made with really good butter, real vanilla, and toasted nuts. All of our pastries and coffee cakes are baked without preservatives, and each baked good will have an “eat or freeze by” sticker that is about two weeks from when the package started its journey. They can be kept at room temperature in their original packaging. Avoid the refrigerator, it can ruin the texture. For longer term storage, all of our baked goods freeze well for up to three months. They can be stored in the freezer in their original packaging or, if they’ve been opened, double wrapped in plastic bags.
Half a pound of artisan cheese
The cheddar from Pineland Farms is everything we love in a New England style cheddar. It’s a great snacking cheese, with a creamy texture and hearty, savory flavors. It can last in the fridge unopened for weeks.
Salami from Red Bear Provisions
Made with humanely sourced meat and traditionally cured by our friends at Red Bear Provisions in Illinois. Hours or even days at warmer temperatures won’t harm it a bit. But once it arrives, it’s best to keep it refrigerated to store it for longer.
John Macy’s Cheesesticks
These crackers start as thin layers of sourdough that are covered with shredded cheese and spices then twice baked till they’re crunchy and delicious.
Virginia Diner Peanuts
Virginia Diner uses super large extra whole Virginia peanuts, the top 2% of the crop. They are larger and more lozenge-shaped than runner peanuts, and their size and density contribute to the terrific crunch.
Antonio Mattei Almond Biscotti Cookies
These biscotti have been produced in Prato since 1858 by the Mattei family. Made with Puglian almonds (almost 20% of the total weight), fresh eggs, pine nuts from Pisa, the flavor of the nuts stand out over the flour and sugar that dominate the flavor of most biscotti that you’ll find in the States. Individually wrapped, they can be enjoyed for months.
Spanish Chocolate Dipped Figs
La Higuera is in the heart of fig country in Almoharín, Spain, and they make the best fig bon bons using Calabacita figs. Following the original family recipe, they puncture the bottom of each tree-dried fig and fill it to bursting with a boozy chocolate ganache spiked with a dose of brandy. Then they enrobe the figs in a silky-smooth layer of chocolate. Individually wrapped, these treats will last for months.
