Lincolnshire Poacher Cheese from Great Britain

Lincolnshire Poacher Cheese from Great Britain

One of the best "new traditional" British cheeses.

One of the best of the new generation of traditional British cheeses, an all-organic cheese made by Simon & Tim Jones up in the hills off Britain’s North Sea Coast from their herd of Holstein-Friesian cows. We picked up some particularly well-aged wheels that are some of the best I've ever tried. If the name is unfamiliar to you, Lincolnshire Poacher is basically an English Farmhouse Cheddar with what you might call a Swiss accent in the making. Made from unpasteurized milk, the Poacher is big flavored, nutty and buttery with just a tingle of Swissness in the nose. A lovely, long aged cheese making its mark here in North America. Supplies limited.
