About Anavery Farms

First-generation farmer Adam Weinrich started Anavery Fine Foods in Traverse City, Michigan in 2019. He and his family focus on rotational grazing and other sustainable practices to keep the 78 beautiful acres in good condition. Heritage breed pigs including Red Wattle and Large Black breeds have room to roam around and are raised humanely without any added hormones or antibiotics. When I first visited the farm, I was whisked around in a Bobcat utility vehicle with the farm manager Dave for a quick tour. We saw winter bedding getting cleaned out from the barn; laying chickens corralled by an enthusiastic farm dog; a calf born the previous day lying close by its mother in the field. They have a small farm store on their property, and I take every opportunity to stop by and pick up meat from their freezers to stock my own fridge. Anavery is committed to remaining local to Traverse City (not unlike Zingerman’s – we are committed to Ann Arbor, through and through!) and we’re excited to be able to share a taste of their dedication across the country.
