Cherry Chocolate Bread

Loaf of chocolate cherry bread

A chocolate lover’s fantasy come true.

Bean to bar Nicaraguan chocolate from French Broad Chocolates in North Carolina, plus dozens of dried Michigan cherries, all baked into a dense, delicious loaf made with organic flour. If you give it a few minutes in the oven the chocolate chunks will begin melting. The aroma of cocoa will fill the air. You’ll take the loaf out, add a hint of sweet butter or, feeling generous, set a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

At this point the sun will break through the clouds, and angels will start to sing. Hold on to your heart. This is heady stuff.

Ed Levine of Serious Eats, says, “The Zingerman’s Bakehouse makes a chocolate cherry bread that can be used as the base of the best French toast you’ve ever had in your life.””
