“Omsom yuzu misoyaki sauce” is a lot of new words for many of us, but let me put you at ease: just think of this as an amped up teriyaki.
I’m not saying regular teriyaki in a bottle is boring. It’s usually salty and sweet from soy sauce, sake, ginger and sugar. But these fun-filled packets turn the flavor up to 11 with the addition of tart yuzu (a knobbly citrus more commonly used in East Asia) and two kinds of savory miso (a salty, earthy Japanese seasoning made from fermented soybeans). Even the bright, colorful packaging feels like a party.
Made by the Pham Sisters who co-founded their company Omsom to showcase “loud and proud” Asian flavors. Try it with eggplant, salmon, or chicken, and don’t resist the urge to dance with joy at every bite.
