Italian Crunchy Peanut Spread

This spread comes from Rieti, Italy, in the very center of the country, where Antonio della Corte and Anna Marie Conti blend nuts, extra virgin olive oil, and other luscious ingredients to create sweet nut spreads you’ll want to use everywhere (check out their Pistacchiosa cream, too). The olive oil gives the spread a nice sheen and incredibly smooth texture that gets a bit of bite from crunchy bits of candied peanuts. The knock-out flavor of those peanuts comes out in spades.

What to do with the spread? Drizzle it over a banana, heat it up and dollop over ice cream or gelato, use it to as a filling with chocolatey cookies to make the ultimate cookie sandwich. Wherever you think a bit of crunch, a bit of peanut, and a lovely level of sweetness would be nice, then that’s where you’ll wanna use this spread.
