Each fall Zingerman’s Bakehouse releases special limited edition challahs for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Each loaf is baked to order by hand, arriving wrapped in plastic and paper. They’re gorgeous, the color of toasted saffron, and the flavors are rich and sweet—everything the New Year should be.
This Moroccan style challah is a beautiful five-strand braid. The top is brushed with honey and sprinkled with poppyseeds, anise, and sesame seeds.
