These are the same great Portuguese sardines we've offered for years in pure olive oil, now upgraded to extra virgin. The effect is definite. The flavor has become more buttery, less metallic. In a way it's less fishy.
To some folks who are used to a briny, edgy flavor this will come off as softer, rounder. Either way, it's great stuff, and a welcome addition to our sardine community.
