Burundi is a great place to be a coffee plant. The country has the perfect conditions for growing great coffee: high elevation, hot and lots of sun.
A few brokers traveled to Burundi recently and returned with seven different micro-lots (small productions from small producers). Zingerman's roastmaster Steve selected this one from the Kavugangoma cooperative in northeastern Burundi.
I love this coffee for its youthfulness, its near absence of anything bitter and juicy fruit notes. It’s a great brew for morning coffee drinkers as well as those of us that like to finish off a good dinner with a nice cup of joe.
