Thick, creamy, elegant, luscious. Eating gelato is an event, a special occasion that borders on a religious experience for ice cream connoisseurs.
At Zingerman's Creamery, our gelato makers mix fresh milk from Calder Dairy—one of the last farmstead dairies in Michigan—with organic Demerara sugar and an array of other great ingredients to churn out this Italian-style ice cream with direct, intense flavors.
Now you can pick your favorite flavors and assemble your own custom assortment of gelati. Not sure what flavor to pick? Here's a suggestion from Marcy Harris, the marketing manager at Zingerman's Roadhouse:
I have never been one to shy away from eating gelato or ice cream throughout the year, even when I am admiring twelve inches of Michigan snow on the ground while I am doing so. Even now, as the air becomes crisper and everyone is pulling warm pies out of the oven, I am reaching for my pint of Zingerman’s Maple Pecan gelato and savoring every spoonful. The Creamery uses real Michigan maple syrup, and each bite of the cool treat tastes like a fresh drop of syrup from a tree in February melting on my tongue. The Georgia pecans are tender and buttery, and the maple dissolves off each piece like syrup candy. I look forward to the Maple Pecan gelato every year, and it will be a favorite addition to any pie passed my way this season.
