Costa Rican Naranjo Coffee

The roaster's pick for August!

Hacienda Miramonte is located in the canton (“county”) of Naranjo in Costa Rica’s Central Valley. The farm was started in 1917 by the matriarch of  the Gurdian family, Lucila Duval de Morales, and is now operated by her great-grandson Ricardo Gurdian. Generation after generation, the Gurdians have reaffirmed their commitment to growing quality coffee while serving as stewards of the environment and their local community.

The maestros at Zingerman's Coffee Company roast these sun-dried beans just a little beyond medium, which really brings out its caramel sweetness. When brewed, it's a well-balanced cup. As espresso it starts out bright and citrusy but ends smooth. A presspot really brings out the savory characteristics that are more muted in other brewing methods.

We were only able to secure a small amount of beans which should just last us through August, so pick up a bag while you can!
