Rye and wheat flours are mixed with a bit of Muscovado sugar, a touch of lard and a generous dose of Peninsula Porter beer from Michigan Brewing Company in Webberville.
Moist on the inside, crusty on the outside, the beer adds a hint of spice and a little smokiness to the crumb.
