From the same folks who send us the addictive Peperoni Cruschi come a new chili pepper concoction. Sun dried Calabrian chilis are seeded and ground with extra-virgin olive oil to a paste as smooth and light as whipped cream. The peppers are grown on the Belfiore family's own land, and each morning they harvest only as much as they will be able to process that day.
The spice level of this cream is not too high. There’s just enough zip to make your lips tingle. The flavor of slowly sun dried red pepper is abundant, slightly sweet and dusted with the aroma of smoke.
You can spread chili pepper cream like mayonnaise on a sandwich. Or mix it with mayo for a dip. Spoon a bit into pasta sauce to give it a kick. Add a bit when you deglaze a pan.
Topped with olive oil, it’ll last for months in the refrigerator.
