My toddler asked me where bacon chocolate eggs came from. I confessed I didn't know, but I bet it's the most delicious animal that ever lived. In truth, these chocolate-y, bacon-y eggs come from Vosges Haut Chocolat in Chicago.
Pieces of hickory smoked bacon are folded into soft, buttery caramel then covered in dark chocolate and formed into the shape of (half) Easter eggs. The salty/sweet combination is for more mature tastes (at least that's what I told my toddler) so don't feel bad about snatching them up and hoarding them for the adults. Three bacon chocolate caramel eggs per box.
