Sometimes we take for granted the foodie paradise in our own backyard. The Traverse City / Leelanau Peninsula area of northern Michigan is not only picturesque, it's home to some of the best artisan foodmakers working in the country. From farmers and cheesemakers to chefs and winemakers, everyone we talk to is really excited about what's happening "up north" and how vibrant (and delicious) their food web has become. They're proud to share their knowledge and fruits of their labors with us.
We've designed the trip for travelers with a passion for great food that is made following centuries old traditions. We've created a three-day tour that's fully planned with visits to producers and restauarants all over the area. This is your chance to explore a thriving food scene before it becomes the "next big thing." But since Mario Batali spends his summers in the area, the secret won't stay safe much longer.
