Thick, creamy, luscious: eating gelato is an event, a special occasion that borders on a religious experience for ice cream connoisseurs. People lose their minds for gelato, especially during pie season, where it makes an irrepressible companion.
At Zingerman’s Creamery, our gelato maker Josh uses fresh milk from Michigan's Calder Dairy, organic Demerara sugar and an array of other good ingredients to produce this Italian-style ice cream with intense, direct flavors. We even traveled to Bologna, Italy, to buy authentic equipment so we could make it right.
Josh has created a special collection of six of his favorite flavors just for Thanksgiving.
We’ll send six different flavors, six tubs total, twelve ounces each:
Dark Chocolate—With Scharffen Berger cocoa.
Vanilla—With Madagascar vanilla beans.
Burnt Sugar—made with sugar toasted until it just starts to burn, like the top of a crème brûlée
Paw Paw—Michigan's "exotic" fruit. Custardy, sweet, luscious.
Cinnamon—Korintje cinnamon from India. Deep, complex flavor that's robustly spicy.
Harvest Pumpkin—A blend of fall spices and cooked pumpkin.
