Spurred by the visionaries at Neal’s Yard Dairy, Charles Martell has gone way back to the roots of Double Gloucester, using the milk from the original Gloucester cow breed and all the old methods. No one else in the world is making a Double Gloucester like this.

The “double” in the name means the curd used to make the cheese comes from two different milkings. The cream is skimmed from the first milking and added to the second, making it much higher in milk fat, about forty to fifty percent. It's mellow, with the pleasant flavor of milk and cream accented by an earthy finish.

A rare experience for any true cheese lover into time travel.
