This traditional loaf of Macedonia gathers quite an ensemble of ingredients: wheat, rye and cornmeal, mashed potatoes, unsweetened chocolate, coffee, butter, molasses, honey, caraway seeds, cinnamon and nutmeg. You can tell its flavor is complex—just barely sweet, subtly spicy, quite delicious.

The bread is great double baked and served hot out of the oven (which is true for most of our breads). Great toasted with Fresh Cream Cheese, next to a bowl of polenta, or slathered thick with good butter.
